HITN welcomed a group of student government leaders from Progress High School, Grand Street Campus in Brooklyn, NY.
Led by their dedicated teacher, Ms. Lisandra Morales—an advocate for real-world learning opportunities—the group included sophomore and junior members of the school’s Student Government Club.
The students participated in HITN’s Student Spotlight Tour, an initiative designed to inspire future storytellers by providing hands-on exposure to the world of television production.
During their visit to HITN headquarters, the students toured various departments and even had the opportunity to create their own public service announcement on digital responsibility—a topic that sparked thoughtful discussion and creative expression.
The experience offered more than just technical insight. As one student shared over lunch, “I never set expectations for field trips because I’m often disappointed, but this has been an eye-opening and meaningful experience.” Another added, “I learned so much about myself through this experience. I was forced to get out of my comfort zone, and now I can see myself differently.”
As a nationwide network, HITN believes in the power of media to educate, empower, and engage. This visit is just one example of how we’re helping to build that future—one group of students at a time.
