The Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting, better known as WIPR, is a media conglomerate that integrates digital platforms, radio, social networks and television. WIPR was founded under the Department of Public Instruction in 1949, with the purpose of providing cultural, educational and informative content that inspires, enriches and transforms the lives of the Puerto Rican audience, with world-class production values. The vision by WIPR is to be the center of relevant cultural, educational and informative content for the development of the Island’s society, and share it with the world.
Currently, the content created in the three seasons of #EnCasaAprendo is also available on the PRTV+ platform. This is a unique multi-device application in Puerto Rico and available for free locally. Internationally it will also work within multiple devices (iOS or Android, Apple TV, Fire TV and ROKU). With PRTV+ each person can enjoy our educational content wherever and whenever they want; always within reach.
HITN has been allied with WIPR for many years, providing content and establishing initiatives that help foster cooperative ties on issues of common interest. After the passage of Hurricane Maria, HITN produced (in conjunction with WIPR) the 13-episode program called Puerto Rico Contigo. It served to publicize the initiatives of the Government, the business sector, non-profit entities, associations and small businesses, to achieve the economic recovery of the Island after the meteorological disaster. The show was broadcast in Puerto Rico on WIPR and throughout the United States on HITN.

ABC Puerto Rico is the commercial name or “”on the air”” of WORA-TV, a station affiliated with the ABC network in the United States. WORA TV was founded in 1956 and at that time was the third television station to provide its signal throughout the Island, after WKAQ-TV and WAPA-TV. From its inception, the station produced its own programming and, over the years, had affiliation agreements with WKAQ and WAPA.
Currently, ABC Puerto Rico produces and broadcasts local programming, including entertainment, variety and news programs (such as Primetime and ABC News Extra), as well as programming from ABC USA. The channel is available with its open signal and through all cable and digital television providers in Puerto Rico. HITN and ABC 5 has a relationship that has been growing, with the intention of creating joint programming, integrating the wide range of programs in HITN’s portfolio with issues of local interest in Puerto Rico, fostering commercial and cooperative ties between the two television networks.
