She is the creator of the nation’s first Afro-Latino sitcom TV series entitled D’QUE LATINO. She utilizes her platform to bring honor to the Afro- Latino Diaspora.
Naomi Rivera is a former member of the New York State Assembly with over 20 years’ experience in senior levels of State and City Government. She is only the second Puerto Rican to be elected to the State Assembly in its 226-year history, paving the way for Latinas. She was a voting member of the standing committees on Health and Education and worked closely with the executive office, and the state secretary of health to create programming opportunities that address disparities.
As Executive Director of Government Affairs for HITN, Naomi is responsible for the co-development of HITN’s community and government affairs unit. She works collaboratively on government relations. She fosters relationships developed over many years in the public and private sector in order she facilitates partnerships to maximize community reach, and bolster programs that supports the agency’s mission to advance the educational, cultural, and socio-economic aspirations of Hispanics.
