In an effort to support the regional chapters of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), HITN formed a working group to assess the progress and quality of journalistic work in various regions throughout the United States.
Due to the increase in Hispanic submissions, the Academy recruited more judges capable of evaluating television segments that were predominantly bilingual and in Spanish. This was the reason why HITN decided to affiliate with the New York chapter to assist in meeting this growing demand in the United States. As part of this involvement, members of the working group attended the 66th Annual New York Emmy Awards gala.
Colleagues who cast their votes in the months leading up to the awards ceremony expressed their satisfaction with their contributions, noting that such activities provide them with a more comprehensive insight into the practice of Hispanic news journalism in television networks across other states in the United States.
It is important to note that HITN did not compete in any categories this year, and was present at the NY Emmys because it is committed to support Hispanic television networks.
