HITN’s Government Relations department recently attended an event hosted by Crain’s New York Business. The event featured a live interview with Keechant L. Sewell, the NYPD Police Commissioner, moderated by Cory Schouten, Crain’s Editor.
Members of the New York Sheriff’s Office were also in attendance at the event as guests of HITN. Crain’s is a multimedia platform that connects businesses across the five boroughs by providing analysis and opinion on how to navigate the city’s complex business and political landscape. It provides its audience with several networking opportunities to help businesses position themselves better and expand their brand.
During the interview Keechant Sewell shared her vision on how to make New York City safer in the coming years. She spoke about NYPD’s strategic plan introduced earlier in the year. Once the NYPD Commissioner sees what the NYPD has achieved in this period, it can set goals for the next 24 months.
In addition, Ms. Sewell spoke about long-term plans for the New York Police Department. She aims to make the NYPD the most public-facing and accessible police department in the world. The new striping on the police car is a step towards this goal, as it has a QR code that takes you right to the NYPD website, making it easier for the public to interact with the department.
HITN is a corporate sponsor of these events, which provide a good opportunity for the business community members to learn from industry leaders.
