In celebration of Thanksgiving, HITN partnered with Assemblymember Yudelka Tapia to provide donated turkeys to residents of District 86 in the Bronx.
This district, which includes University Heights, Morris Heights, Mount Eden, Kingsbridge, Tremont, and Fordham, benefited from this community initiative in The Bronx.
The turkey distribution was made possible through collaboration with several elected officials, including Bronx Borough President Vanessa L. Gibson, Councilman Oswald Feliz, and Councilmember Pierina Sanchez.
Early in the day, recipients gathered outside P.S./M.S. 363 on Walton Avenue to collect their turkeys and additional provisions donated by community supporters. The event aimed to ensure that residents, many of whom are elderly tenants, could celebrate Thanksgiving with a warm meal.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donations, highlighting the positive impact of such initiatives. HITN’s contribution underscores its commitment to serving the community, reflecting the organization’s core values.
