In its dedicated pursuit of fostering positive health outcomes for expectant mothers and ensuring the well-being of newborns, HITN continues to promote its 92 Weeks to a Great Start in Life program.
A recent highlight of this initiative was a roundtable discussion centered on the vital role of doulas during the 92-week period.
Moderated by Maryann Marrapodi, HITN’s Chief Learning & Development Officer, and co-moderated by Educator Cynthia Jeffers, the event brought together a panel of experts. Among them were Vickiana Pena, founder of Sistahood of Birth Workers Doula; Tia Dowling, a Birth and Postpartum Doula from the Pregnancy Care Center; and Taina González, representing the 92 Week pilot program, sponsored by the Robin Hood Foundation.
Michael D. Nieves, President and CEO of HITN, welcomed the distinguished guests and emphasized the critical need for effective collaboration to ensure that mothers’ needs are respected and met. He reiterated HITN’s unwavering commitment to advocating for equitable healthcare.
Looking ahead, HITN is planning to replicate these informative panels to expand its impact, extending support and valuable information to more families in need.
