The Telly Awards have announced that HITN’s ¡Tú Cuentas! Cine Youth Film Festival (TCCYF) has triumphed in three categories at this year’s competition.
TCCYF, an initiative by HITN to highlight up-and-coming Hispanic filmmakers, earned a silver award in Non-Broadcast – Miscellaneous: Official Listing, along with two bronze awards—one for Non-Broadcast – General Not-for-profit and another for General Entertainment.
The festival’s success is credited to the efforts of Festival Director L. Alejandro Molina, Co-director Cynthia Rivera, and producer Laura Masnatta. This online event brings together young Latino creatives to share their distinctive narratives with a global audience.
Since its launch in 2021, the ¡Tú Cuentas! Cine Youth Film Festival has become a vital platform for emerging Hispanic filmmakers. It has provided new talent with the chance to showcase their work to a broader audience, gaining well-deserved visibility and recognition. In an industry where Hispanic voices are often underrepresented, ¡Tú Cuentas! has been instrumental in amplifying these stories and breaking down barriers.
Expressing her excitement over the Telly Awards, Festival Co-director Cynthia Rivera said, “Each year, we eagerly anticipate the wide range of films submitted to our festival. From animated and documentary to narrative short films, the works submitted by this next generation of filmmakers is a breath of fresh air, delivering diverse perspectives and innovative narratives that captivate and inspire audiences. Huge thanks to our talented filmmakers, dedicated team, and our amazing audience for making this achievement possible. Together, we’re shaping the future of Latinx cinema, one story at a time!”
