HITN proudly joined tens of thousands of Puerto Ricans to celebrate the 62nd Annual National Puerto Rican Day Parade this past Sunday, June 9th on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.

The parades’ theme, “Un Pueblo, Muchas Voces,” or “One People Many Voices,” honored leaders, educators, artists, and celebrities who positively impacted our nation. The Parade, founded in 1958, is nationally recognized as the largest ethnic parade in the US, having surpassed the New York St. Patrick’s Day parade in the last decade.

This year the parade continued to promote economic development post-Hurricane Maria. Organizations such as Discover Puerto Rico encouraged business and leisure travel to Puerto Rico to reinforce ongoing recovery efforts. HITN staff and friends were on hand to pass out HITN premiums, such as fans, and tv guides. The event was one of the largest cultural pride and heritage celebrations for so many families and friends.
